Phi Sigma Rho at the University of Washington serves as a sisterhood for women in engineering. These women are to each other mentors, supporters, and friends. At UW Phi Rho, we encourage our members to uphold excellent scholarship, demonstrate immeasurable friendship, and encourage each other to be the best women they can be.
I chose Phi Rho because I wanted the experience of a sorority without the time commitment that live-in sororities have. I love our sorority because I can still have time to join other academic clubs, like Steel Bridge (shameless plug), as well as create new friendships with other women in STEM. I love how we all understand the time commitment our degrees take and the endless support we have for one another. Overall, it is the perfect sorority for having balance in my schedule and for the endless amount of support!

I chose Phi Rho because I wanted to find a community of women in STEM, and I’m happy to say that I’ve found it! I love being a part of this amazing group of women who are all such hard workers and inspiring people, as well as great people to just chat or have a laugh with.
